Our Story
Primal Effect grew out of a genuine obsession with sound — not just playing music, but understanding how it moves through a space, how a system needs to be built and tuned to perform, and what the difference is between audio that’s just loud and audio that actually hits. That obsession is still at the centre of everything we do.
We’ve built and operated systems across a wide range of events — from small private parties to festival stages — and that breadth of experience has shaped how we approach every brief. We understand the technical demands of a dancefloor as well as the care and precision required for a wedding ceremony. We’ve delivered full stage production — sound, lighting, staging and projection — at Fuinneamh festival, and bring sound and visual engineering experience from working at Electric Picnic. We’ve been invited to run full stages — including a full-day indoor stage at Otherside — brought our soundsystem to venues like Pawn Shop in Dublin, and delivered production for events like Circuit. The format changes; the engineering standard doesn’t.
Today, Primal Effect operates across two areas: sound system hire for those who want to run their own event with professional-grade equipment, and full event production — sound, Chamsys-controlled lighting, staging and structural builds — for those who need us to handle it end to end. Both sit on the same foundation: custom-built equipment, professional maintenance and a crew that knows what they’re doing.
